Default C6 Shifter For C5 !

This is Bob at Fichtner Chevrolet,

Patches on the Forum has done an installation and said it works well. We have the changover kit with the control, shift **** and retainer on special for 222.00 . This will give you the smoother and quicker/shorter throw of the C6. To order give us a call at 800-234-5284 or email me at parts@fichtnerchevrolet.com.
These are in short supply and we have almost cleaned GM out of the control assemblies. If you have been thinking about it don't wait too long.

Bob

Can you send me some details on the kit?

How much work to change it over and more specifically how much more shift effort is needed to change gears.

If you shorten this thing too much more you will need two hours a day in the gym building up your forearm to change gears.

And will our current aftermarket shift ***** work on the new shifter?

thanks

I know I read in one of the articles about the C6 that the shorter throw was mainly due to internal changes in the transmission, which means installing a C6 shifter in a C5 is not going to significantly reduce the throw. I think Patches' article confirmed that except for the stick being slightly shorter, it shifted almost the same as the stock C5 shifter.

For the money, I would just go to either B&M or Hurst. Both are proven many times over for C5 installation.

Been there, done that, and didn't like the results. Seriously considering the C6 setup though.

Anyone have the link to Patches article?

I've got the Hurst shifter now but, I'm always willing to entertain new ideas.
