DTE will send you a set of instructions with it. You can do it with the car together. I think it will be a little tougher because of confined spece but it can be done.
For automatic cars, I guess the subframe will have to be dropped to get it in.
For manual cars, you WILL have to remove or move the exhaust out of the way, but other than that it's supposed to be pretty straightforward. 2-3 hours is the time estimate I was given.

Installed mine this weekend (MN6) on a lift. Took about four hours. Directions are straight forward and the only difficult part is getting to the top bolts on the passenger side, the rest wasn't that bad.
1. Count the number of threads on the ride height bolts and write it down.
2. Release spring tension buy using jack as support under one side of spring at a time and completely remove the bolt. Gently lower until the spring tension has been removed. Do other side.
3. Remove two upper and two lower anti-sway bar mounting straps fastners on each side of crossmember and lower the anti-sway bar out of the way by swinging it down.
4. Remove the cat-back.
5. Put jack under crossmember and loosen the four crossmember bolts and lower the crossmember down about an inch. This should give you the clearance you need.
