I took my wifes vette to the dyno this weekend. Completely stock, just wanted to get some good baseline numbers for the future. I did 3 pulls with a A/F readings. Only on the last pull did the A/F come into the scale of the dyno after acceleration. during idle it looks good, but as soon as you get on the gas, it goes way rich. So rich you can smell it bad. Any sugestions on possible causes. The guys at the dyno said it just needs to be driven harder. OK I'm up for that, but is there anything else I need to look for?
TIA
Jeff

Just curious......what #'s did you end up with as far as RWHP and RWT??

around 300/300. 98 vert A4. and yes it was richer than 10.1. They offered to do a dyno tune on it for $275 with ls1edit. Not right now. My wife just changed jobs and I don't want to spend the extra loot right now.
Where did you get the dyno done? Does sound like a dyno tune/LS1 edit would do the trick for you, 21st Cent (Carolton) dyno tune is good for each mod done, no xtra charge/

Not a supporting vendor. The BMW forum guys set up a day with 3 pulls with A/F for $30. The guys there specialize in C5 vette's and they said that it just needed to be driven harder. They plugged a scanner into it while they did a pull and didn't see anything wrong, just extremly rich. So rich that it stinks sometimes.
Does your wife's vette have any mods? Kinda weird that a stock A4 vette would run that rich. Your numbers seem a bit high for a stock A4 as well. Mine did 289 rwhp stock. Did you buy it new or used?

Mine is dyno tuned and I get engine lights for the same thing. I'm taking it back soon to get it tuned again when I get a my tc and gears installed. The smell is also there from time to time.
