Default Typical cost for cam/pulley install?

Cam and pulley is my next upgrade, having already done headers and heads.

I am trying to get an idea of what is a reasonable price for a cam and pulley install. I was quoted at $1500, and that sounded kinda high to me.

Thanks,

greg

I agree $1500.00 is very high for a cam installation. There should be no extra charge to install the pulley since the OEM pulley has to be removed to pull the cam.

There was a thread on this very question not long ago. Do a search on this forum and I you should get a good idea what the going rate for a cam swap is. Good Luck!!!!

I've seen 550.00 quoted for F-Body cam installs. Is the Install that much different for a C5?

It cost me about $2300 for a heads, header system, exhaust, Vararam, Dyno tuning. All parts pre purcuased. About 3 days of labor and miscellaneous parts.

Oh ya, the rack has to be pulled and a bunch of stuff has to disassembled. It's a major PITA. Jeff

Did that price include parts? I paid $1700 for cam, UD pulley + belts, springs, pushrods, installation and tuning. Separated out, installation cost was about $600.

that sounds like a fair price to me if parts are included in that quote. pulley install should be free...it has to come off anyways
