I received my recall notice. What does the dealer have to do? I will be having LS1 edit done soon, so I need to know if the dealer flashes the computer. If so I guess I need this done before I get the tune. Do I really need to have this done??
Todd
If you have a six speed the dealer will flash your computer, so I would definitely do the tune after the recall.
If you have an automatic you should be fine, but if it was me I would still do the recall before the tune because stranger things have happened at dealerships.
Also, if you have a 6 speed I would not get the recall done as it doesn't fix anything. It just shuts off the fuel pump if a column lock is detected while moving. This is something that can't happen anyway.
Excellent information! Just to "whine" one last time, I installed a CLB, and it didn't work properly for me. Shortly after installing it, I heard a "click-click-click" as I turned the steering wheel. I assume that it was the locking pin that wasn't fully retracted. I removed the CLB, and the noise disappeared.....

It sounds like when you installed your CLB you did not get the ECL locking pin fully retracted. Did you try to re-install it one more time?

Given all of the potential problems, especially getting hung up away from home, I decided not to try it again. It was initially OK for the first day or so, however.
