P1631 Theft Deterrent System Password Incorrect
After every third or so starts, I turn the key and the car won't start. When I check codes, I get the PCM P1631 code. If I wait a few minutes and clear the code, the car will start fine. Is the chip in my key causing the problem or is it something else? Occasionally my security light will also come on while driving. Any ideas?

Yep, either the resistor on your key or the ignition switch itself. When the car fails to start is the security light flashing? and does it reset after about 10 minutes?
