On mine, I could NOT get the top speed function to work. It worked okay for a while, but then I noticed that it got "stuck" at 40 MPH. I tried to troubleshoot it one afternoon, so I reset it, top speed 0 MPH. Okay, took the car out for a short romp, checked the top speed, it was 20 MPH! I know I went faster than 20 MPH! I reset it, drove around a bit, and it was only 10 MPH! What the...?
I wrote an email to TopDownTech.com, and asked if I might have a defective unit. They kindly and gently told me that what I was reading was 100+ MPH speeds, 140 MPH, 120 MPH, 110 MPH, that the tachometer clicks up one when you to 100+ MPH. Ohhhhhhh...I am a doofus. RTFM!

I'm glad you said that because that's all I could think of
The only problem I've seen is that if one accidently pushes the fob button once too often, one can lower the windows when one REALLY doesn't want to (instead of just unlocking both doors), like when it is raining.
And, if this happens, it is just as likely that the auto-up function will not work consistently because of changes in the top weatherstrip will automatically run them back down, instead of allowing them to run up and stay. This is very sensitive with mine, and really is nonfunctional if one changes tops or leaves the windows down allowing the rubber to relax and actuate this safety feature.
Conversely, if you take your car to the dealer you can just pull the device from the "reader" port and plug it back in later without any relearn procedure.

Has anyone tried the top down window valet from Elite Engineering? It looks great and easy to do, but not sure what problems it can cause. Thank you, habib
