Just an update...the Dynatech headers are on, and it is a DEFINITE difference. I even notice more than when I first put my cold air kit on. It buries you in the seat harder in the mid power range, and the tire spin has dramatically increased. Maybe because I didn't expect much, I am pleasantly surprised. I love driving it! If this is what 20 rwhp does, than I can't wait until my A&A procharger arrives in about 3 weeks.
The sound is even meaner under WOT. It's still waaaaaay too quiet with the stock exhaust. Just my $0.02.
I just added headers (Kooks) back into stock cats and mufflers. Made a very significant difference but waht surprise me the most was the noise difference. Even though the rest of the exhaust is stock (I do have an xpipe), the headers made a significant and noticeable diferenc in sound out the tailpipes.
It is not objectionable IMHO but quite gusty!

I'm running LGM LTs, x-pipe, and high-flow cats and the Quad Borla Stinger cat-back. The sound is , especially at WOT.
If you've already done LTs, then I'd highly recommend a nice set of GHLs for your cat-back. The Borla's are wonderful, but their sound level is border-line for me, especially in the 1600rpm range.
You will notice a difference in the performance, but you will also hear more valve train noise.
IMHO if you aren't going to do a cam, or forced induction I would go with the gears for about the same money you will get a lot more performance.
In a 6spd if you go from the stock 3.42 to a 4.10 it is roughly a 20% gearing advantage which is like adding 20% more torque to the car, ie 60-70ftlbs.
But if you go for the headers and price is a concern, just do the headers, find a nice set used. As someone else mentioned above a cat back adds nothing, I run stock cat back w/ exhaust cutouts, with the cutouts open I gain about 10rwhp, so how much could a different muffler possibly gain?
