Default problem with the brakes

I got excited this weekend to do a little more on the Corvette. Always liked the way the red calipers looked, so I am painting mine (just like my dad did). I think it looks better without the brake pads painted, so I took them off to do the work. Just using Rustoleum Sunrise Red, hand-painted instead of sprayed (easier to control), and painting the hubs black to freshen that up too.

After lots of reading on the forum (this place is great), I read about greasing the caliper guide pins. Turns out one of mine on the driver side is frozen solid! Now, I have the caliper mounting bracket with a frozen pin, and I am not going to put that back on. Looks like the car will remain on blocks for the week until I can get parts.

Just FYI - thanks to Richin Chicago for the help on stressing to grease the caliper pin. This probably would have lead to some serious brake problems!

No problem! It does get toasty in there when the pads hang up!
