Brakes are still squeaking
the new pads did there squeal, but are good now.
and it's not just when stopping, it's a constant so something is out of place.
the only thing that i could think of is maybe the brake pad retainers might have been damaged .. but I looked at them .. and they seem fine.
any thoughts?
not that it matters but,

You're getting squeal even when your not using the brakes?
It's only on the right side (passenger)?
Can you tell if it's the front or rear?
For this to happen and it be caused by the brakes, it's a mechanical issue.
Either the rotor run-out is off causing the rotor to make contact with the pads at certain points. This doesn't mean the rotor is bad, run-out issues can be caused by the hub, wheels or even wheel bearing.

The Caliper is not mounted square on the carrier or it's binding on the guide pins. Make sure the guide pins are greased with caliper grease.
Can try remounting the caliper and check the pins. Look for any obvious gauges or scratches. While you at it push the piston back agian.

The caliper piston(s) are not achieving enough roll-back, usually because they're seizing in the bore from corrosion, bad seals or they're askew in the bore.
Normally these problems would be accompanied by poor pedal feel, pedal vibration of judder. But, not always. Some systems have "lower sensitivity" than others.
There is also the possibility that it's the wheel bearings and it's just coincidental that you did the brakes at the same time.

I always forget the most simple explainantion.
