Hi Everyone

My girlfriend just bought a 2000 Black C5 Auto. She has already ordered a bunch of parts. She bought some black Z06's motorsports in the stock size and we have put them on already. The other things she ordered were the Borla Stright Pipes, Diablo Predator, Vararam, LSX intake and TB, Kooks LT's and catted X, a Yank 3000 Stall TC, and a TR 224 cam.

I was wondering since i am new to LS1/LS6 motors if there were any other bolt-on's that were missing. What would you guys suggest next?

We got some other small things like a T-stat and plugs and wires.

Thx in advance and here's a pic to maybe spark some ideas =]

depending on what your final goal is you are off to a good start regardless. I am assuming from your username that you are coming from a mustang background. T-stats dont respond the same with the C5 as they did with th mustang. You have to change the fan settings through the PCM to have them come on sooner.

I would do the following changes to the wish list (if possible)
Ditch the Borla Stright Pipes and go with stingers. The straight pipes are great if you are racing however it will get old quick in daily driving.

Ditch the Diablo Predator too. For the money its a little pricey and if you are getting a heads and cam package anyway you will need more tuning that what the Predator can offer

Vararam.. I like this intake... good choice.

LSX intake and TB... I am assuming you mean the FAST intake....
Too much money for the gains you will get on a NA car. Get a LS6 intake and keep your stock throttle body.

Kooks LT's and catted X.. This is another great choice...
a Yank 3000 Stall TC... this is a little low in my opinion. I like the 3200 or even the 3400. Puts the motor closer to the sweet spot for light to light racing

TR 224 cam.. .I am not familiar with this cam so I will keep quiet.

The money that you will save from not getting the predator, and LSX intake, you can almost get a set of AFR 205 heads, that will complement a cam. Good luck with your project...

One other thing is possibly gears. The autos came with 2 different gear ratios. 2.73:1 and 3.15:1. Either way I would upgrade to the 3:42.

Thx for your response =] and yes i drive an 04 Cobra =P
Yeah she got the FAST intake and TB because it came with the LS6 intake when she bought it.(as far as i know the only way to tell is the EGR hook up above the TB right? Hers does not have one) How do i know what gear ratio hers came with?

Thx again for your help

If the 3000 stall you mentioned is the Yank Stealth 3000, don't go with it. That converter is just a modified stock 12 inch T/C that will not give you the performance you are looking for. Since you are installing a cam go with the Yank SS3600 or at least the SS3200 and 3.42 or 3.73 gears.

2000's came with a LS1 intake manifold. Unless the previous owner changed it you dont have the better ls6 manifold. This manifold can be had for about 400.00 (much cheaper than the LSX). There was a discussion about this about 3-4 weeks ago how to tell the 2 apart. Try searching for it or maybe someone else will chime in on a way to tell. To check the gear ratio, you can do it 2 ways. One would be to climb under the car and check the rear. It should have a tag from Getrag that says the ratio, another way would be to check the option codes in the glove box. Not sure what code is the 3:15 gear ratio but its a a starting point.

Climb under the car and check the gears. It will be posted on the gearbox.

Next mod...............Supercharger.
