Default Check engine light after LT headers

Just had a set of dynatechs with cats installed last weekend. Started the car today for the first time since then and the "check" warning light comes on. All temps are normal, no loss of power, oil level is fine, no noticible problems whatsoever besides this light. Checked the DIC stored codes and the only applicable code was P0141 -> relating to heated oxygen sensor. I am going for a tune in two days. Is there something to worry about or does the car just need to be tuned? Any suggestions or similar experiences? thanks

Brian

Tuning should fix your issue... Has to do with the sensor being farther down the header than it was in the stock configuration. Wont affect the way it runs.

I deleted the code on my car. Used to get the same code on my SS Camaro til I tuned it.

I had a similar problem, I suggest clearing the codes and see if they come back. I did, and mine did not.

Disconnect the battery for a little over 30 mins. This will reset the computer

Same thing happened after installing my LTs and after clearing the code it never came back. Your car is probably running a bit rich now and the computer is trying to compensate. Be prepared to clean off your tail pipes after every spin around town.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am going to clear the codes and hopefully that will resolve the issue. By the way, I did notice my tailpipes looking excessively dirty.

Same Problem here. I have turned off the code, Replaced the O2 sensor with a back o2 sensor because it gets hotter quicker. Here is a great site for diagnosising any problem.

The car will run rich.....but the power is great!

Great link. Thanks. I cleared the code last night, so I will have to see if that was all it needed.

Check for the simple things first. If the 02 sensors wires were removed
during the "cat" install, or the 02 sensors removed without disconnecting the wires at the plugs, then it could be a broken wire issue. I've seen this happen a few times. LTs have been known to throw codes without a re-tune.
