Some IDIOT has taken this car apart at the GM dealer before I bought it to fix and has made a mess of EVERYTHING . . . **** I could smash him in the face !!
Symptoms ;
When the fan / heater control system is on it blows all five relays under the pass floor rapidly and makes the lights dim really really fast and constantly ( RELAYS GO OFF LIKE A MACHINE GUN UNTIL I RIP THEM OUT !! )
37 MONITORED LD
38 DRL R
40 DRL L
42 CTSY LP
And if I press the unlock key on the key fob , one relay in the engine bay goes off like a machine gun until I rip it out !!
39 ( FOG LAMP ) or 37 ( RR FOG LAMP ) ,
This thing is so screwed , I dont know what they did to it or where to begin looking . . . its like a pinball machine inside the car with all the lights and noises . . . . help
To me it sounds like a weak ground or positive connection. Or a LOW battery, which I doubt. Like it doesn't have enough juice to keep the relays clicked. I say a bad connection. Check the grounds...
hmmm . . . . u think maybe it could be the battery . . . . it was so dead the lights on the dash wouldnt light up all the way so I put a small charger on it and then turned it on . . . after a few seconds with the fan cranked the relays would start going . . . then if I turned the fan off the relays would stop.
Ive never had a low battery make noises like that exept with the starter not having enough juice. . . I sure hope thats what it is . . . I would dance in the streets with no pants
Should I check for grounds under the dash ?? Anybody know the best place to check ??
Check the battery man... make sure it's good... These cars have so much electrical crap in them and are picky. If you have a charger, try fully charging the battery. If you have doubts or it wont charge, have it tested at an autoparts store. Most will test it for free.
When the lights got left on with my old battery.. It was DEAD. We tried jumping it off and I heard all kinds of clicking from the relays and the car wouldnt do crap.. Had to let it charge with the cables on and the engine on the truck running for a few mins before it would start up. That battery went bad eventually, but also just before it did when it was weak.. the car ran funky...
Check near the fuse panel for connections and also in the engine compartment near the battery and I think on the driver side as well..
There on two main under hood grounding plugs just aft of the headlights. Low or weak or poor connected batteries will make these cars go absolutely nuts.I been there and done that, twice.

I've been watching this thread, but, I didn't have anything useful to say in regards to the problem. I sure am glad you got to the bottom of it though.
By the way, a "Corvette" was a 1700's fast British sailing ship, wasn't it? I say-"aft" . Of course, it could be astern, or even abaft!

Sometimes I slip up and ask where the "head" is. Once I asked about the latest scuttlebutt and one of the young guys I work with started talking about a Southpark episode that had a character called Scuzzlebutt(?). And they think I'm weird.....
