The problem right now is the knock sensors. They need to be "bypassed" in the PCM.. Other than that, it's an easy swap. I personally wouldn't go the LS2 route until the knock sensor issue is taken care of. I want to retain them..

I will probably be building a 402/408 set-up shortly with an LS2 block and topping it with a set of AFR 225's. Im strongly considering the use of a solid roller which would require deleting the KR function anyway. I'm curious if there is a publication that would aid in the conversion. Either way I will work my way thru it, but a book from GM sounds to good to be true. From what I've read, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of issues with the conversion. I will keep you guys abreast of my progress.

Interested also, what are you using for the crank, rods, and pistons?

There are guys on LS1Tech who have moved LS1 knock sensors to the side of the block and claim they work. Check the LS2/LS7 section. I have not heard of one running in a C5 yet.

Please post a link to the book

Callies crank, Probe Rods (I-Beam design), and Probe pistons.....using a 10 cc dish piston with the upcoming 62 cc 225's. Works our perfectly to around 11.5 to one. I will be coating pistons and valves and with the cam I will be running I should be able to cruise around on pump fuel all day long. If I know I'm going to be hammering on the car (track day etc.) I will add some Torco or a splash a race gas just to be safe. If I still lived on the east coast (93-94 octane) I dont even think it would be necessary.

I will share the entire build with you guys much like I did my stock short 346 build up. Its probably months from completion, but I have already started accumulating the parts and the most of the "planning" is behind me.

Will keep you posted...

I have an LS2/421 stroker installed in my C5 road race car... I have no issues with the conversion. I installed the knock sensors on each side of the block and used a modified KS harness... At this time I am running on the rich side (12:1 AFR) and have had very few KR events... Not sure if they are working properly or not...
My installation includes the LS2 intake manifold and 90mm LS2 T/B, AFR 225 heads milled .030, LS2 cam position sensor and cover, and LS2 valley cover. It also has a Lunati 4.125" stroker crank, Diamond forged pistons, 6.125" forged I-beam rods and the stock sleeves are bored .030 over...
Sorry, no dyno info at this time but I am very pleased with the results. I have no problem running down a new C6 with 427 from a well known tuner...

My exhaust system is Melrose 1-3/4 long tube headers, gutted cats and B&B PRT mufflers. I have a video clip of my first time down the drag strip. I'll post it if someone can tell me how to do it..
