Ported and polished stage three here. Don't remember the flow #s exactly but were close to 320. They were done by hand by a guy who does alot of NHRA cars and been doing them for about 15 years. Also has done many LS1's in the past.

Heads or headers?
I think he was referring to the manifolds (headers)..
I guess you could do the manifolds.. but I dont' see it giving you much gain.. I have heard of doing it before on other cars.
Sounds like a lot of work for little gain if any... If the manifolds are off already go get some headers! (OK i know they are expensive), but u get the idea

yea I was talking about headers...my friend and I were talking about it yesterday and I was wondering what kinda gains people got if they tried this. We were talking about doing that to his camaro and giving it that sleeper look. Anyone done it with any gain numbers? Is it worth the time and money??
Car Craft recently did a series of LS1 articles. With headers, they only picked up a few HP over the stock Vette manifolds which are a Tri-Y design. They basically stated headers weren't worth the money. However, I noticed a great gain not only on the dyno but also SOTP after my header installation. If you are going this route, the later case iron manifold is the way to go. I have a friend who is contemplating this same thing, and then coating them.
no manifold or mid length header will give you what a good set of long tubes will. manifolds are NOT fun to put on and you will feel no gain, after porting the stock manifolds.... not even worth thinking about. save your pennies and get a good set of LG's
I've thought about it, I'd love to try it, but the cost is prohibitive. To do it right, you'll want an "extrude hone" job, and that ain't cheap. I think they get around $300 per manifold.
I've had lots of cars with headers, and they're definitely not the best choice for everyone in every situation. I really don't want them on my C5. For a weekend track car, no problem, but for the street they're a compromise.
Cool...I really appreciate all of your help guys...guess I am just gonna live with what i got for right now and save my allowance and buy some LTs later on. thanks again!
