Default Disconnect Battery, should I?

In the past when I've left home I've just disconnected the negative ground to the battery and all was well, so far. Then I read a post in a thread recently about fuses #16, #23 should be pulled first, although my manual says to pull the negative ground when leaving home, and doesn't say anything about any fuses?

Another question; How long can my C5 sit with the battery CONNECTED before it would be dead?

I'm on my ship in the ship-yard at Sturgeon Bay now. I've got pretty good wireless connection to the internet, so I figure I'd better take advantage of it. And, of course I'm obsessing about my VETTE!!!

Mine sits 6 months at a time. Just disconnect the ground. Fuses don't work without current going through them. I've never had a problem.

I've read that these cars draw a lot of current while sitting and will run a battery down in three weeks.

I can tell you from experience.. it is less than 8 weeks to a dead battery. I'm not sure about 3 weeks. Mine has sat for close to a month and fired up, but anything from 6-8 weeks and it is usually dead. (Now I just disconnect the negative as well.. no fuses)
