Default C5 Cupholder

I have just purchased a 2000 C5 Convertible after 5 years of owning a C4. The C5 has done a great job of fixing the deciences of the C4 but the cupholder on the C5 is a disaster. With a cup that fits the bottom of the cupholder perfectly, I goosed the engine and the cup ended up in the passenger seat, spilling its contents. The holder just has no support keeping it from falling over to the rear.

Has anyone found a good fix for this problem?

Don't goose it with a cup or don't have a cup when goosing it

j/k

Yeah, it stinks. I've seen one solution at Mid America that looks like it may work, but have not tried this.

I also bought a two cup holder from Milton Isles and it works fine if you don't drive in a spirited manner, but what fun is that

Default Cup Holder by Girl-ina-box

I've got the cup holder from Girl-ina-box and I love it. It folds up when not in use and is adjustable.

She is a sponser.

Here's the link to her sales on eBay.

I also have a cup holder from Girl-ina-box - it is great.

If you go into the C5 parts section, you will find Girl- ina-box selling the cup holders on Ebay also.

You also can just find girl-ina-box and send her an E:mail
She is excellant to deal with.

I experienced the same problems with cup holders. All of the ones I tried I either did not like or they took up room from the passenger seat and the driver needed to reach over the console. This is what I made to solve the problem. This one is the 6th design and I think the final. It holds everything that we need for both in town and long trips. I am thinking of making and selling them for $85.00, the top is plastic either black or tope the rest is wood; you can then paint it to match your interior. The install is just to wedge it between the consol wall and the passenger seat. Please let me know what you think.

I started this thread and appreciate all the information. I just ordered the girl-ina-box one on ebay. Looks like it is better than the others I have seen since it folds up.

I use one of these everyday the stock cup holder is for cell phone. Never a drink because it winds up all over the car.

I have the milton isles and I find on plastic taco bell cups (the big ones with the tapered bottoms) and on most med- large sized fast food paper cups, it holds in place even with spirited driving.

Don't drink and drive is a really inexpensive alternative.
