Alright guys...time to help out the less mechanically inclined. I opened my hood today and found something hanging. I don't know what it does or where it plugs into...let me describe:
The piece is a plastic coated wire that comes out from beneath the hoodliner on the bottom (near where the hood hinges), and there is a plastic connection on the loose end. It looks like it plugs into something. Any idea what this is? How could it have come undone...where do I plug this back into? Probably not a big deal...but driving me nuts. I would post a pic if I had a digital.
I can't imagine what need a connection behind the hoodliner.
Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure this is the wire that connects to the radiator shroud on the far right side(looking from the cab) about half way down. If I am wrong I am sure someone will chime it, but if we are thinking of the same wire that thats where it goes. Good luck
I guess you are correct. Thanks. I found the "female" connection the wire plugged into. What does this do? and why does it go up under the hoodliner? Thanks.
It plugged into a wire that comes up from beneath the big black piece with the "rubber bumber" that supports the front of the hood. Geez, I sound like a third grader...but I don't know what this stuff is.
Thats odd, I'm pretty sure mine was unplugged when I bought the car too. I just left it unplugged since my car spends a lot of time with the hood open.
Maybe because the hood was up a lot, and the moron who owned the car before didn't know it shuts off automatically after a few minutes?
If the hood is up and the light is auto off, I believe it will come back on if someone opens the door ..... not a good deal if you are showing your car all day.
I'm one of the many morons who disconnect the hood light ...
