if your car has been idle for three weeks, make sure your battery is good and fully charged...install a CLB... and read the sticky at the top of the tech section. Good luck.

I get the "service column lock" message on the DIC everytime I start my car since yesterday. It just popped on the screen while I was driving - now it won't go off. But nothing seems to be wrong with my column - it drives fine. I bought the car used about a month ago. Has this happened to any one else?

Mine came on after some work in the shop. I assumed it had failed but ignored it. The next time it came back from the shop it was ok again. You might try disconnecting the batter and see if that resets it. If you do, make sure you have the radio security code in case you need it (I didn't).
