Default Optima Red Top

I am sure this has been answered before, but can not find it on search function.

Does anyone have the correct Part Number for the Optima Red Top Battery that will fit an '04 with the top terminals?

Mine was low twice, and decided not to go to the dealer for another GM Battery.

Thanks!

Contact Optima or LAPD, they can tell you.

I did a search for you at the Optima batteries website (www.optimabatteries.com). Its wierd, but they don't list a battery for a 2004. Through 2003, a red-top 75/35 will fit. I'm baffled as these batteries are somewhat universal with both top and side terminals.

Maybe someone with an '04 can chime in.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

75/35 fits perfect in 2001-04 C5's.

The 34/78 has top terminals that are closer together than the 75/35 and seem to match the 04 terminal spacing better. I don't think it really matters though. Also, the 34/78 is slightly larger in size and has a higher CCA rating. Both will work, the 75/35's are usually more readily available, places like Costco and cost less.

I just bought a Red Top 75/35 for my '97 yesterday at Pep Boys for $109, fit perfect.

With all the Red Top problems that have hit recently, I think I am going to go with the Excide instead.

Get the larger, higher capacity Red Top.

No mass produced anything is ever going to be 100% perfect (btw, you don't want to hear my Exide stories) I have I have them in all my toys and just replaced the Delco in my C-5 daily driver. I've got a half dozen of them and could not be more pleased.

All the best.
