No pictures but I've put mine on the A-pillar with velcro. I change my shift points to often to mount it in the center vent. I bet it would look slick though.

Thats the only problem really. Advantage is that it would be totally hidden
not sure if these will show up.... but I put a quicklite on my steering column and the view is just to the left of the display so all the gauges and warning lights are still visible and the moduel in the glove box....
Hey SpeedZ, would you shar with us how to do it? I like it a lot
Yes, I had planned on doing a write up on this once I got it all done (the car done), took lots of photos while building the project. It was fairly simple to make it work and should be pretty easy to duplicate. It does run under microprocessor control! Which is over kill but the easiest way to make it work. The problem I had was sensing the factory SHIFT segment. The HUD segments are pulsed about 250Hz and the pulse width is varied for brightness. When the display is set down dim the pulse width it only 5us wide making it hard to detect. So I went with a microprocessor and interrupt control. Chip cost is around $2 and around 25 lines of code.
GM should have been able to do this for less than $.25 per unit! Makes you wonder sometimes...

I honestly don't know. I have not drove with this setup yet, I only have 80% of a car right now. I think the factory SHIFT indicator is controlled by the PCM and I think it can be programmed in the PCM. There is a "Shift light" RPM setting in the LS1-Edit that I looked at but I have not found anyone that can tell me if that does in fact control the SHIFT light. Anyone out there doing their own programming that could check this? I'm hoping I can change it in the PCM.
I attached mine to the drivers side of the rear view mirrow with the wire coming down from the windsheld molding. I have a Harland shift lite. At that location it lites the drivers side up real nice without taking your eyes off the road.
Hope this helps.
