Default Question on header fitment

Will headers off a 2002 fit a 1999?

I am looking into purchasing FLP LT headers that were on a 2002.

Thanks.

Im sure they will bolt up to the engine but the only issue may be with the air tube alignment on the passenger side. I asked a somewhat similar question about my 02 Z06 exhaust manifolds bolting up to a 2000 FRC. The response I got is below. Hope this helps.

Mid year or so they switched to shorter cast iron manifolds but the air tube was in the same place. It has sind been move to the #5 exhaust port. Bottom line is that you will probably have to change the H pipe assembly to an 01 and up and definatly have to change or extend the passenger side air tube. Is is worth it? Up to you pal. - C.

You may have to make a new air tube but that is no problem and not that difficult, other than that there shoud not be any problem

the air tube on top of header on passenger side is in back 1997-2000 newer models 2001-2004 have air tube centered you can either make a extension or pull the intake and put the newer style air tube in. If you do pull intake replace the oil pressure sending unit while you are their.

what is the air tube and is it much work to relocate? Anyone have pics?

In the comments it says the the H pipe must be replaced but if I am purchasing a full exhaust with cats and X pipe I don't believe this affects me, correct?

Since my post is being refered to, I'll answer that. No, long tubes wont require an H pipe change for obvious reasons. You can buy the correct air tube (01 up) from Ken but in order to change it, the intake maifold must be removed. That would be a good time to get an LS6 manifold and injectors. If you don't want to go through that much trouble, the aluminun tube (passenger side only) can be cut and extended with high temp flexable tubing. It only has to extend 4 inches or so you just have to find the right stuff (inside diameter). Hope this helped. - C.

Based on all the info, I will wait for another deal for my model year. I want the headers to just bolt right up without altering anything.

Thanks everyone.
