I know the evaporator drain is clogged, but I can't find it.
Anybody have a picture?
Where are they?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Tony
Good luck getting the drain unclogged. I had it happen twice last year. First time, the dealer didn't get all the small particles out. Second time seems to have worked. I also bought one of the cowling foam filters from madvet. Seems to be working, but its been six months of winter, so we'll see how the summer goes.
There are three cowl drain tubes on the left side (drivers) under the cowl that are easy to get to. The one on the right side is a PITA. I have to loosen the battery and move it ahead so I can get my hand on the drain. I'm guessing the evaporator drain is the one behind the battery.
The only pics I can find seem to indicate the evap core is about
dead center of the dash. The accumulator/dryer is on the far right (pass side), so I guess it could be from either component.
I am unable to find any pics. There are three drains; one on either side to divert water that collects in the cowl. These can be seen by dropping the fenderwells, they look like long columns that neck down at the bottom, but these will not make water collect inside. If you have water inside it is the A/C drain that is backed up. It is a black 90 degree elbow that also necks down at the bottom (which is the source of the problem) located on the firewall behind the passenger side head. Pull it off and water will pour out the hole. Cut off the bottom part of the elbow where it necks down and replace it. Problem solved.
