Default complicated question (throttle stop)

since the throttle body is electronic, is there any moduel that could interupt the voltage going to the throttle body when at WOT to make it at 1/2 or 1/4 throttle while a button is on then when released it goes back to WOT....??? any help on this would be great...

There is a Throttle control module. Pending research to the Interface of the actual throttle control motor, I don't know why one could not be designed. I think one of the things to look out for is the feedback loop from the actual control. I think there may be one that actually tells the computer the throttle went to the position it commanded. This way in case of a uncommanded WOT the puter can shut it down.

I can see where one would be neat to have especially with an Automatic and drag racing. Almost like a line lock for the throttle. Bring it up to the line and hit the button to lock the front brakes. Then while holding the brake button bring up the rpms to Converter lock press the button a second time and hold to lock in the partial throttle. Then hold the throttle pedal to the floor. When the last yellow flashes, release the button and everything happens at once. The front brakes release and the Throttle body goes WOT all at the same time and all from one button! Now that would give new meaning to reaction time!

GoneZo! C ya later, you is outa here! maybe set it up to all work off the brake pedal!

yeah that too.... I have an M6 so I'd have it hooked up to the clutch pedal... set it up to launch at the right rpm's... bracket racing I need the consistancy... although I dont think this would fall under specific throttle stop rules because its only being used off the line like a rev limiter....

Come to think of it I would use two switches on the shifter instead of buttons. Set the Brake and throw switch one fwd to lock the fronts. Bring up the RPMs to Converter lock and throw Switch two forward to set that, then when the light flashes I would hit the throttle switch just a nano sec before the Brake SW. Or you could do it all with one and do the stagger electronically. Maybe make it adjustable with a **** and a switch...

A coded valet mode for a throttle interface would be cool also, limiting it to 1/3rd open for valet parking and service dudes who like to romp vettes. Maybe the Window Valet guy can work on this and ad it to his line of products.

Harlan makes a two-step box, basically a launch rev limiter, that would do what you say. Floor the throttle at the line, with the button held down, the engine stays at your pre-set launch revs, then release when the lights go down and the revs will climb normally.
