Someone double check me on this: Just changed out diff fluid
Ok, first time I have done this myself. Just finished my 500 mile break in on my ECS rebuilt 4.10 rear. So I replaced the fluid after the break in as instructed. Did it as follows:
drained it, put drain plug back in (36#tq).
used fluid transfer pump, put in 1qt new gear oil
put in 4oz GM Limited Slip additive
Put in most of another qt of new gear oil (2/3 to 3/4 qt)
If I put my little finger straight in no wet, if I bend the tip down a little I get fluid on my finger. Sound right?
Going to be racing this weekend, just want to be sure I got it right. I'll probably have another 200 miles on it before I actually race so I'll be paying close attention until then.
I usually like the smell of all things automotive, but this stuff is foul.
TIA!
MIR should be cookin' tonight if the rain clears out. Sat and Sun is the NOPI event, sigh, well at least the professional jello wrestling girls should be entertaining? With some luck there might be some racing too
