Default Neutral safety switch?

Today just out of the blue my car wouldn't start after driving it and making about four stops. Turned the key and absolutely nothing- no sounds, nothing. Luckily I was just a mile from home so I walked home and got my truck, got back to the car and it started right up as if nothing was wrong. Battery is only 7 months old, can't find any info on neutral safety switch in the service manual.
(99 with manual trans.)
Now I need to walk back and get my truck...

After searching through older posts here I came to the conclusion that it was probably just my key and/or key hole in the dash needed cleaning. The "security" warning light was flashing and it apparently disables starting for 5 minutes- that explains why it started right up 20 minutes later. Still curious about the neutral safety switch location though in case that problem ever arises.

My guess is its on the clutch pedal linkage. It also turns off the cruise control if you tap the clutch. Doug
