When I went to drive my 01 Vette today my drivers window would not go down, I did a check on my DIC and had no current codes (all codes showed history on all systems) then I checked the fuse under the passenger floor board, #33 by the chart. Anyone have any sugestions about this?
There's a couple things to try.
First, try holding the window switch in the down position while you slam the door closed. Sometimes the regulators get stuck.
If that doesn't work you are probably looking at needing a new window regulator to fix the problem.
I had the exact same problem with my 02 Z06 about a month ago at 9000 miles. No warning, just stopped rolling up. I am still under warantee so I took it to the dealer. They replaced a "broken wire" and everything is fine now. Seemed kind of strange to me to have a broken wire on a car with 9000 miles on it. But that's what they said. Go figure.
The passenger side window failed on my '01 last year. The entire window "regulator" unit had to be replaced. The car was under the original factory warranty so the repair was free. I get more window noise at highway speed now so I'll have to try and adjust the window. It's a fairly easy procedure but the door panel has to come off to get at the adjusters. Now that the weather has improved it's time to correct the problem.
This happened to my '04 C5 coupe. The window regulator is a known weakness that often fails, which they replace under warranty. Shouldn't be a problem.
Yeah same thing happend to me... I bought a window motor and regulator and it works great now. It's something that happens to the vettes.. I have a 2001 also.
By the way it isn't a cheap fix...
