Here is a link to the front airdams "Ken Fichtner Chevrolet" the air dams are on page 6 and only cost $56.00 in parts and take less than 20 minutes to install.

I had my transmission fluid flushed at the local dealership for $125 and there was no discount involved so your definitely getting ripped on that one.

$750 for pads fluid and bleeding you've got to be kidding me.

Is the cracked piece the plastic covering? because thats only held on with 4 10mm bolts and costs around $50 with a 10 minute installation time.

Take your car someplace else the only thing thats reasonable in their quote is the oil change.

replace transmission fluids (on 29,000 mile car?) $215.00

new brake pads, fluid and bleeding $750.00

replace cracked upper radiator support? $145.00

not to mention they appear to be charging me $188 for the inspection/diagnosis.

Thoughts? Advice?
new brake pads, fluid and bleeding $750.00
$188 for the inspection/diagnosis

otehrwise pretty much in line .. cost me about $350 (total) when i did my brake rotors, pads, and fluid (and i used racing fluid) and diagnositic stuff should be deleted once they do the work .. but i also did all the work myself. so no labor costs.

edit: after reading another post and finding he's only resurfacing the rotors .. this guy is a scam artist. You came to teh right place, corvette forum .. we'll set you straight

.. go back and tell him you know he's full of it.

That is some cheap oil - what type are you using?
Mobil SuperSythetic 15/50. Always have used it, always will. You can get it at COSCO for that price and sometimes Walmart for $4.25. PEPBOYS was running an even better special, buy 1 get one free if you buy some calendar for $1.00. I know lots of forum members stocked up on this stuff big time. Unfortunately, I missed out.

Sticking to the subject.

The oil change about right.

EVerything else besides the brakes seems correct at $94.00 for an hourly charge.

The brakes that is crazy honestly. From my experience I had bad rotors when I got my corvette. Took it to the dealer and had the front pads changed and rotors turned $250.00 later and my rotors went bad in 2 months. WARPED!!

Never ever!!! will I turn the rotors, especially when you can buy them for $27.00 at NAPA as stated above. They charge you more for turning them then getting new ones.

Find a buddy or someone else to install your brake pads and rotors.

If you are mechanically inclined we can help you here on the board. Changing the rotors and brakes is cake.
