What are the most g's put down from accel and lateral from your guys vettes, Race vettes can chime in too to compare to the street guys...
Setup explanation would be appreciated
Road & Track has a STOCK C5 Z06 doing 1.28g's in a hairpin turn in a June 2002 article titled "Great Grip". They also have it at .98 g's on the skidpad.
Car & Driver has a STOCK c5 doing 1.03 g's on a carousel turn in a 1997 article titled "The Best Handling Car for More than $30k".
I had a GTimer hooked up to my car on stock GY SCs at an autocross on asphalt. I downloaded and plotted the data. Looking at this information the car was pulling peak Lateral accel. of 1.1g, but this was only over a .2 sec period. The highest "sustained" lateral accel. was over a 2 sec period where it was pulling an average of .99g. At another area over a 4 sec span the car was averaging .93g. For Longitudinal accel max forward was .57g.
This was on a very tight course so you could only go full throttle for a couple sec. I was also a little tentative since I had only autox this car once before.
Wonder how much Hp is needed to push a vette to 1G forward....
Assuming constant acceleration of 1g, you'd need enough HP to get from 0-60 in 2.74 seconds (assuming constant 1g and instantaneous transition from zero acceleration to 1g of acceleration).
so ya fig what? 700hp? lol i need some Twins.........probably wouldnt take much to make a vette pull 3 g's...........stopping, turning, and accel...lol not rocketship g's lol
