I was told that you could replace just the bushing. I was shopping around for Poly U bushings for the sway bars can found poly U for the springs. So,, if you can get Poly U,, then you could replace just the rubber bushing. Mine went out at 58K.. 99 Nassau Blue. riding on Poly U. swaybars..
I assume you are referring to the rubber bushings on the bolt that sets the rdie height. I think there are 2: 1 on top of the lower control arm and 1 between the spring and bolt head. Do you know which one is bad? Just find a replacement. Ask around or check with some vendors. Maybe Gene at the Karshop.
I understood the original question to be the bushing AROUND the spring where it meets the frame.
If that is true, and what jimcork1 said above is also true, i.e. replacing with poly bushings that's great news. Not sure how to install those though, the stock rubber jobs are on there pretty good...
Couldn't find the urethane bushing that go in the spring itself and several knowledgable people also told me that you can;t get them.. I found a very low mileage 3-4k stock spring here on the forum for what I would have expected to pay for bushings so I'm going to replace the whole spring.
These are the sites that have suspension parts. I don't remember which had the spring end bushings,, Looked at too many. You might check these sites and/or call them direct.
Good luck.
PS,, my dealer told me he could replace just the spring end bushings with out changing the spring. 99 Nassau Blue
I think there may be confusion. WKMCD needs the bushings that go around the spring to cushion the contact point at the frame, not the bushings on the end bolts.
The Ecklers cat.. pg 196 shows the 97-04 Polyurethane total suspension kit. They claim they have spring pads (the round ones,, not the square ones for the ends of the springs). But it is not shown in the photo. The round ones are on the height adjustment. The square ones are on the ends of the springs and form the point of pressure on the A frame.
The Vet service tech. (the one who pulls the wrenches) at my GM dealer did tell me they were available,, next time in I will ask him again about the part#'s. I will also check around the club and see what other guys are using..
