Hud

Anyone know if the HUD option requires a different windshield? Someone told me once that the glass was slightly different for cars with a HUD. Thanks.

I installed HUD in my '99 Hardtop and it worked great. There is a "special windshield" on HUD equipped vehicles, but it's not needed to work as many have proven that. My '00 came with it and I can't tell a difference in the two. One of the neatest options to have. So, to answer your question, no it is not needed per my personal experience.

I retrofit my 2000 with HUD and it has a standard windshild and I can see it just fine. I have heard it is just a little better if you have a HUD windshild but have no proof if ther is such a thing.

I have a factory equipped HUD car and my neighbor has HUD that we added - they look the same to me.
