Default exhaust install question

If I cut off my stock exhaust with a sawsall or something like that is it possible to install a cat back exhaust while the car is only up on ramps?
I've seen the pics of cars jacked way up with wood blocks etc and I don't think I would want to work under that. Just wondering if ramps would provide enought clearance to work with the exhaust.

Yes, if you are buying an exhaust system that is in 2 pieces, no if you are buying a one piece system as you wont be able to get the pipes over the axle.
I just installed my Corsa system that very way. I Backed the car up on ramps, blocked the front wheels. Since i wasnt going to keep it and you can't give them away, I cut off the stock exhaust with a sawzall. ( took about 2 minutes).
I dropped the sway bar since the passenger side seemed a little tight going over the axle. It took me about an hour from start to finish, and then another hour to align the tips.

I installed my SLP cat-back with just jacks and stands. No wood or ramps. Most aftermarket cat-backs come in 2 pieces so you can get it up over.

cutting them is the best way if you don't feel secure with the car that high (and it is high).

My GHL catback exhaust came in 3 pieces. All you would need are ramps for the rear, jack stands (just to be safe), and tire blocks so your baby does not move. In the back on the ramps there will be plenty of room.

Jacked mine up and pulled the stocks out whole. Wasn't bad at all. Getting the Stingers to hook up to the LG stuff, well that was a different story. Probably about 1.5 hrs total.

I needed to jack it way up from the back (with jack stands of course) in order to get the over the axle pipes off. Otherwise they just hit the floor and I couldn't get a good angle on them. I sawzalled them too to make it easier.
