you can use damn near anything, but microfiber is the answer!
For those stubborn water spots that appear after a rain and followed by scorching sun here in Sunny South Florida, I use Windex and a razorblade. Spray plenty “solvent” to keep the glass wet and CAREFULLY scrape in a circular motion while spraying until the spots are clean and shinny. Micofiber, regular towels, or newspaper all work well. I have been told that newspaper is probably the best, but it is a bit of a pain to use. Be careful with the razor blade; I have seen scrape marks from over zealous use!
I know I'm swimming against the tide here, but I have never found Invisible Glass to be good for anything. It won't remove the soap film from shower doors, and it certainly doesn't remove the day-to-day grime that accumulates on the windshield - it just smears.
The best stuff I have found is Dirtex, available at Home Depot.
One word of warning though...
It contains ammonia, so may not be safe to use with some window tint films (no problem with the Quantum tint in my vette).
White vineger a small amount of ammonia mixed with warm water, and wipe with old news papers will take off almost anything on glass.
Just don't use it on the tint side, I use Solar Magic, sold at Auto Ameristar stores.
Oh and course do it in the shade on cool windows!
