Just go for the C5-R or wide body from ACI. Why hack up the subframe unless you are trying to specifically run a C6. At that point it would be easier to buy a C6 and outfit it.
David started with wrecked C5 so had to go the route of making frame changes etc.

that's a WC C6-R just like the one under construction that I posted pics of. The #28 is the LG motorsports car and it's the same deal, no choped top, that's just how the car is.
Those are Race Cars built to exact specifications so they are legal for professional racing and they are inspected very carefully. Those guys can't risk getting caught cheating. With all the extra weight the SCCA makes them put on the car, do you really think they could get away with chopping the top????
FWIW: all of the C6-Rs started out as C5s. Even the ALMS/Le Mans C6-Rs are modified C5-Rs
