Default what heads and cam?

I think I will go soon for Heads and cams.
what should I buy?
I read a lot of thread about this.
Patriot has a lot of guy complaining but I never really read one guy that says "this product sucks and I had problem" but most of the time this is guys that know someone who...bla..bla
Are the Patriot heads really worth the money.
Then should I go for the 5.3 or the LS6 with the big valve,
I also check their cams and they have only two different one. the first one does look agressive enough for me the second one look way too agressive.
I think I should look for 228/230 112LSA with a lift of .585"

I'm lost and hesitate all other competitors have much higher price plus most of the time you won't have news heads but need to send yours back.

Get the Futral F13 cam with TEA heads. If cost is no object get the LS6 heads if you are budget restricted get their 5.3 stage 1.5 heads.

AFR is a nice head.... but for $500 less, you can buy a TEA 5.3 head that out flows the AFR head across the board....... do your homework and there are more sites out there than CF.

I was also looking at the Patriot performance head and cam package. I started a thread here on the forum regarding this package and received similar responses as you have so far, nothing conclusive. Bottom line is that dimes to dollars you probably can't go wrong with this choice, although the other manufacturers mentioned are tryed and tested with excellent results. If you do purchase this package PLEASE let me know what kind of performance results you get as I am also still in the market for h/c package.

People have had problems with Patriot's LS6 style. Everyone will tell you to stay away.

Check out Bob at precision porting. He has a group purchase going on his stage three ls1 heads with larger stainless valves and some good flow #s for $1349. I've read some good posts and have purchased a set from Bob and will be installing soon.

I just added MTI Stealth II cam plus Kooks and LS6 intake. Left heads stock except for springs, pushrods, etc.
WOW. Love that cam. Did not lose any bottom end and gained a bunch in midrange and up to the limiter.
Question: Did you move your rev limiter up from 6200 stock setting?

You doubt that Ike.... here is some fact Ike..... now please back up your OPINION Ike.... As a matter of fact Ike, the numbers from the AFR head are better than AFR actually claim on their site and the TEA head still out flows it. AFR is a nice head but it aint all that, especially for $2,000+.

Taking it a step further Ike, you and I have very similar setup's, the only difference is you have $2,000+ AFR heads and I have a set of 3 year old cnc heads, my rwhp is 410 and rwtq is 382, my heads cost $1,200. Maybe I'll go to Disney with the $800 I saved.

Were those flow numbers both generated from the same bench?
