Help!!!! C4 Driveline Problem
I recently had the clutch replaced on my 96 C4. It had 96,700 miles on it at the time and was the original clutch. After, replacing the clutch it would go inot gear very nicely and stopped a racketing sound it had when I pushed the clutch in all the way. During the install I inquired as to whether the flywheel needed to be replaced or machined etc. The Chev dealer where it is being worked on had it machined. Anyway, when I got it back the first day I was babying it around town and it all seemed fine. The next day I let the RPM's build in second gear and it had a loud vibration it never had before at 4500 RPM. I promptly took it back to the dealer where the tech rotated the drive shaft to see if that was what was causing it. Needless to say, it didn't fix it. I left it with them and they called me requesting to replace the flywheel. I agreed to pay for the parts and they will cover the labor and discount me the cost of machining the original. If this doesn't work, does anyone know what could be causing this vibration. I mean it is loud as all hell, I am not dreaming it up etc. Why would a freshly machined flywheel cause it? Are they full of ****? Any GM techs out there care to defend these folks?
