I believe the stock rockers are 1.7's. The advantage of after market 1.7's is the reduced friction. The obvious advantage of the 1.85's is the higher lift it gives you with your stock cam. Make sure your springs are good!
my car has 19000 pretty easy miles on it so i would assume my springs are good.is 150-200 bucks a good price for a set from a forum member?8 supposedly new and 8 used...???is there any power increase from those rockers?
Increasing the rocker ratio increases thelift on your cam. For instance, the stock 01 cam has a .500 lift with 1.7 rockers. Changing to a 1.85 ratio will get you .544 lift out of the same cam.
so,i'll get more hp/torque.correct?won't have to get into the pcm for this, will i?ny state now hooks up to pcm for inspections!!!!big pain in the a@$%^#!!!how bout pricing ???
You'll basically have pretty close to a z06 cam. I would upgrade to z06 valvesprings. You'll get some more power especially in the mid/upper rpm range. I dont think you will have any computer issues as your duration specs wont change much. SLP sells a great set of 1.85 rockers that fit under the stock valve covers but they're pricey, however if you ever want to go back to stock it's really easy to do. Even if they do affect your emmisions testing, you can swap the rockers completely in about an hour.
