Default anyone have the LSX intake?

if you do, did you get the 78mm or 90mm? did it give you good results and did the car need tuning once installed? how hard was the installation? i currently have LGM headers/off road x pipe/borla stinger setup with votex ram air , and i dont know if i will gain that much more hp with the LSX intake. car was dyno tuned before header installation. thanks in advance.

if it's stock cube don't bother, LS6 is good enough.

FAST 78 is worth 10-12 RWHP over an LS6 GM intake...
FAST 90 is worth 15-20.....more if the FAST intake is ported.

Also, you could see an additional 4 RWHP with the 78 set-up if you run a ported stock TB, assuming whoever did the porting knew what they were doing....

I would say the gains are worth it....it's just a matter of what your willing to spend for HP versus dollars. Also, do a search....there is alot of info in this intake from previous threads.

Tony M.

PS...the gains I am quoting are on stock displacement applications.

My experience with the FAST intake and an LS2 TB was it gave my '04 C5 a slugish low and midrange. Engine has 224-581-112 cam with MTI2E heads and 3:42 gears. Got more peak power "only 7hp" but lost torque down low.

I think it's all in what you want, for a pure drag racing application it's the ticket. Not so sure on a street car, just depends on the old trade-off rule.

great info , thanks. looks like the gains are not alot from the LSX over the LS6. not worth the much xtra price. i wonder if the gains would be that much more from the LSx when i port my heads and get a cam.
