Default converter advice

have the tranny sent up to rodney(crashed94) FOR A MAKOVER ON FRIENDS 98 A4 car. he daily drives it, has 373 gears, stainless works full length headers,x, corsa rear, vararam, ls6, etc. does auto x and high speed drivers ed stuff, very rare drag, only at bowling green events, etc. may do head and cam in future, my question is do you suggest a converter since the labor is done, and what size to get performance gain and maintain stock type driving character. thanks, joe

With 3.73 gears it's hard to beat something in the 3500 stall speed range. That's what I'd recommend. He'll get a huge performance gain and the 3.73 gears will keep the car from feeling too loose.

I could not agree more, the Trooper is right on target. The Yank SS3600
would be the perfect choice IMO. I ran the very similar Yank ST3500 in my car with 3.73 gears and the combo gave great performance with excellent street manners.
