I am swapping my oil pump to an LS-6 ported one I got from Chris @ ECS....
Is there a different O-ring than the stock one that should be used?
I have already studied my manuals and LS-1howto on this subject any additional info not mentioned would be very helpful..
I was watching H.P. T.V.... they did an LS-1 and said that you have to center the pump or you will chew up your gerotor????
I realize its a T.V. show but I need all the info I can get..
I agree with vettenuts. I opted to coat the o-ring with a little lube so it would slide in easily. New oring & ls2 chain is the way to go. i could not believe how much slack was in my chain. Scott
now if I could just find an ASP pulley .... I could get started
I have checked:
Lingenfelter
ECS
ASP
RPM outlet
Hop up racing.....
Summit
Thunder racing
Yes there is a different O ring you can use. It is a little bit thicker that the oringinal and fits better in my opinion, I got mine at the dealer of all places and they commented that they used this one in the three of four cars they reringed for oil buring issue because the original one was torn.
I'm glad I read this post because the new oil pump being shipped didn't include an o-ring so a local dealer is supposed to have one today. You would think that the pump would include a new o-ring so the customer wouldn't have to hunt for one; a $3 item.
