If you take a look closey, it looks like the centercap was forced into the center hub, and cracked the surrounding chrome area. The chrome is not peeling, it is cracked from force. Bad Chrome does not not crack, it flakes off in small little dots. The damage shown in the picture was caused by force.

Vince,
It probably had to be forced. How else would you get the center in there? Here's the problem, it's pretty simple:
The addition of the chrome adds thickness to the entire center, including the metal around the center hole. This decreases the diameter of that hole. Your centercaps are made to fit the center hole of a "naked" aluminum wheel. That same centercap is not going to fit in the now smaller diameter chrome wheel center hole easily. If extra force cracked the chrome, then it's either because the chrome was not put on correctly thus could not handle the force, or the fact that the wheel would be chromed was not accounted for in machining the center (hole should have been machined larger). Either way, it's not the customer's fault. Your parts should fit together without requiring enough force to crack them, especially if they can't handle the extra force.
I am unhappy with their product and service. I recently purchased rims from iforged. The centers are chrome and are flaking from thge inside - out. I was told by iforged, they do not warranty the area around the lug holes & center cap area. I have had other types of chrome wheels which had dings/dents/rough abbrations and they have nevered peeled or flaked. I can peel this with my fingers.
I thought I was the only one? I am flaking in the same exact place.

Has this problem not been taken care of? Look, I followed your thread as I was interested in the GP with D2 and I will agree that the service was handled VERY poorly. I agree that you should not have had to go through as much trouble getting your issue taken care of as you did and it is too bad that you will be without a wheel for the next few weeks, a better solution seems reasonable? However, that information should have also been included in your post to this thread. As it sits it would seem that iforged is doing nothing to make this problem right and that is not the case. Could have been handled better, for sure, but a fix has been offered and accepted. Bad situation but lets be fair in giving all the information. This is the thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...d&forum_id=103
Mike, I lost your # and have been trying to follow up with you. I'll check the PO I placed for you and call you to see how things are looking brutha.
Aloha, Dave
Dave,
I'm not going to bother with it. I don't want my car on blocks for 6 weeks. By the way, Dave is the man. He gave me a sick deal and has great customer service. When he gets his shop up I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from him. Thanks Dave for everything you've done for me but I don't have the time to screw around with I-forged. Thanks brother!!!
I bought a set of IForged Aero's back in October '04. To be honest there were times I was very disgruntled with my order in regards to customer service due to a mix up on the wheel finish that was contrary to my order so the wheels had to be returned back to IForged. It took quite sometime to get everything all squared away but to IForged's credit they did straighten it out and in the end I ended up with an awesome set of wheels for my ride that fit perfect and that I absolutely love.
I'd also like to put in my 2 cents in regards to EFI-1 (Dave) I purchased my wheels through Dave and in short, he's a great guy to deal with.....very helpful and understanding....basically just a cool guy. I highly recommend you contact him if you're looking at getting some IForged for your ride.
I would always recommend High polished over Chrome. The finish looks the same as long as you take care of it, and you never have to worry about flaking, or peeling. Here are mine, High polished, no clear coat, not really that polished up....
Thanks for the kind words guys. I really appreciate you spreading the good word. I am an enthusiast like everyone else here and I know sometimes customer service is king.
I-Forged has the worst customer service ever. They give the commercial airlines a run for thier money. A friend of mine had to wait 16 weeks to get wheels for his supra from them. Then he hit a curb and bent one after trying to drive around with 22psi of boost and now I-Forged has been tring to make ONE WHEEL for 12 weeks. I could have passed a tax reduction bill through congress quicker WTF.
