reset oil change system
Hello
I just bought a 1998 the car read change oil which I did the problem is the car did not have a manual with it I ordered one but in the mean time could you please tell me how to reset the system

With the car off (not running), turn the key in the ignition to get the DIC to light up. Then press the "Trip" button several times until the percent oil life remaining is on the readout, then press and hold the "Reset" button until the percent changes to 100% (I think it recycles to 99% and not 100%). If that doesn't work, do a search for "percent oil life remaining"...

press the DIC till you come up to the % of oil life left, and just hold in the reset button for a couple of seconds till it reads 100%,

I believe the above is the way recommended by GM but the other won't hurt anything if it works. Good Luck!
