Default Head/Cam advice

Seeking advice on which head/cam combo I should get and what RWHP gains I could get with each separately and also combined?

(current Mods on 99 C5 A4....Cold Air Intake, Borla Exhaust, 3.90s gears & TC, and LT Headers)

well first off i'd reccomend scrapping the 3.90 gears and going down to 3.42's, a couple forum members have had some trouble with them breaking and they seem to be the weakest of the upgraded rear ends. and choosing the heads and cam package is definately a personal preferance. whats your budget and how lopey do you want your cam? is it a daily driver that you just want an additional oomph or is it a weekend car that you wouldnt mind a big cam with. if your budget is limited, i'd reccomend a set of 1.5 tea's and a futral cam that should put you over 400 to the wheels easy. now if your budget is pretty big, i'd say go with some afr 225's and a g5x4 from Lg motorsports. that should give you a big kick in the pants. i'd also reccomend talking to one of the many sponsors here they would be able to make your a custom grind if need be. Goodluck in whatever you do.

I think the 225 is too big, and I don't think the cost is that much higher than TEA's. TEA/Futral or AFR/LG combo's are great!

I actually just got the 3.90s on the advice of a sponsor...(I'll keep my fingers crossed that I don't have any problems)

Its a daily driver...My current budget is around $4000-$5000. I don't mind "loud" (not sure what you mean by "lopey") and am looking for best HP gains (within budget ofcourse)

well then, i'd say a nice set of afr 205's (leaf is correct they may be too big unless your looking for a Max effort set up where you dont mind giving up a little down low for a little up top, but for a daily driver the 205's are great) give alan futral a call he seems to be putting out some great numbers with very driveable cams. what i meant by lopey was when it idles it lopes and some cams lope louder and more aggresively kind of shaking the car. look into the f14 cam with afr 205's or the new g5x4 with the 205's they should net you some great power i'd say youd be near or over 420 on an a4.

oh and i'd also reccomend some bfg drag radials for daily driving, cause with 3.90's and a heads cam combo your going to be severly traction limited. the bfg's will give up handling but give u great traction, that or even ET streets
