I'm going to swim against the tide and say that the tunnel reinforcement plate had a marginal impact for me. In fact, I would NOT reccomend it unless one were already changing out the clutch or installing headers so that the installation work could be performed "while you are in there"

That's the beauty of this Forum - we all have our own opinions.
As I said, your mileage may vary.
With my mods (slammed, stiff suspension, very little suspension travel) and my driving style (non-drag, extremely spirited, canyon carving & twisties) it works like a champ for me.

Good luck.

And it's one of the easiest installs too. Once you get the center exhaust section out of the way, all you have to do is remember; "Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey" about 30 something times and you're practicaly done.
I'd say........the coated aluminum. It's thicker than the stock, lighter weight than the steel abs, the coating would help with the heat. I dunno......

Are you sure you're not thinking of a TV commercial for excercise equipment?
The AOA unit is Abs of Aluminum. There are a couple of very popular units out there to choose from right now and I think either would be a good choice. I have the LAPD version and like it. I agree on the coating aspect; definitely get a coated one.
