Release pressure on surge tank cap by slowly opening 1/4 to 1/2 turn. You will hear the pressure release. Place something under radiator that can hold at least 8 qts of coolant. Thats about all you'll get from the radiator and surge tank. The rest of the coolant (approx 4.5 qts) is in your engine block. Open the petcock on the bottom of the right side of your radiator enough to start flow. I use a 1/4-inch allen wrench. If you have your car up on ramps you might have some residual coolant settle in the back of the surge tank. I use a pump to get that out. Close the petcock and refill with a 50/50 mixture of Dex-Cool and distilled water. Coolant should be approx 1/2 inch above Full Cold line on your surge tank when coolant is heated.
