Just finish installing my new exhaust, but my car won't start. It seems to be the battery, but once I turn the key everthing shuts off.
After a minute or two it starts to make a clickin noise and the lights slowly come back to life. It sound like a shortage somewhere in the car. Can somebody help?
Catback was the only thing that was added.
I just got the car back from the dealer earlier today do to
the steering wheel locking even though the bypass has been installed.

Something in the fuse box is making a clickin noise.
You have a loose /bad battery cable connection or a dead/defective battery. Remove the battery and charge it. Have it checked out at an auto parts store to see if it is good. Clean the cable terminals and clean then with a wire brush and spray the terminals out with brake parts cleaner. Then spray them out with WD-40.
When you reconnect them, torque them to 11 FT/LBS.
My $$ is on bad battery. I was installing a power window motor once and it took about an hour. I tried the new motor and it would not run. Voltage was checked and low. Dah.. the dome light had been on for the hour and the marginal battery died. I jumped the car off, and suprise the new power window motor worked.
so,,, Batteries can die at any time,, it just adds confusion when you happen to be working on the car at the same time.
