Has anybody tried these plugs? Are they worth the extra dollars? Has there been any problems with the +4 design. (I was told that the coil pack requires an extra ground!!)
Been using them for 3 years now, zero issues, no extra ground. Definately an upgrade from stock. As I have only used the stock ones and these, I can't speak as to how they compare to other plugs.
Went with these at the suggestion of my local vette guys, never looked back.

I ran these for about 500 miles and had to pull them out. Random misfires and rough idle. When I exchanged them for the AC Delco Iridiums, the counter guy said he see's this a lot. He claims the +4 are "too cold a plug for LS1 engines". Mentioning that they should only be used on modified engines requiring a colder-than-stock plug. He also said larger diameter plug wires are almost mandatory for the Bosch +4 plugs.
At first I didn't believe the guy. But after swapping in the Iridiums - and still using the stock wires - the engine ran better and smoother that when it was new.
And that may have been my problem, I continued using the factory wires with the Bosch +4. But the Iridium plugs worked perfectly - with my factory wires.
These plugs aren't recommended for the LS6 so I've never used them and can't offer any solid input one way or another. But as an FYI, you can buy them via the AMSOIL Online Store.
C5 part number is B4458.
Sales via my and MrPickles AMSOIL Dealerships benefit the forum. Thanks.
After reading about 8 hours worth of posts on the pros and cons of the +4, and decided to try them with new wires. I didnt notice any gains but my car ran better......but that was due to the fact that one of the wires was not working well. In the end...no gain...but no problems.
how many here have used the +4's with factory plug wires on the LS1/LS6 ?
I'm trying to get a handle on the problems I had.
That's a worthy idea. I went to Taylor wires and koolsox the same time I went to the +4s. Like I said 3 years, daily driver (cept for dec, jan, feb), zero issues.
