Dude, I just did the same thing. You 02s are crossed. make sure you attach the original rear 02 sensores from the car to the front 02 holes in the headers. Also make sure that the right side 02 sensor plugs into the right side header hole and vise versa. I used black and white directions and went too fast. I was stumped for a week and then it hit me. Well that and guys on here calling me a dumba$$, but hey trial by error. Thats what makes hot rodding so fun. Good luck. Any more questions just ask me.

If it's poping when your taking foot off the gas I would say you have some exhaust leaks at the header flanges. Thats what mine was doing, now it's fixed.

Hey, I had fioremike's headers in my garage....(long story) his had 4 bungs cats and all. So he could not have had an issue with swapping the O2 sensors front to back. I have the same style Melrose headers on my car. I get back firing only at low gear while engine braking..... and it is bad. If you leave the clutch it, or use leave it in a higher gear I doo not hear the back firing at all.

I have noticed that under hard accel (12.4@114.7), or any WOT experience the smoke is much worse and I am blaming this on running rich.

I am also very intrigued by Dragon's post. My set had no cats, am I supposed to use the rear o2 in the front bungs???????????? I did not get the fancy instructions like mike

I currently have the front o2 installed, and the rear o2 laying on my work bench (yes it throws a code)
