I have the 03 at the dealership as we speak for a charging problem that has been ongoing for sometime now. When I have my headlight on and I press the brake or use the turn signal or use anything that requires a electrical current my lights flicker for a split second and the volts gage drops about 1 to 1-1/2 volt then climbs back up to smewhere around 13.9 to 14v. the dealership says it is the battery and that needs to be charged because It is not a daily driver and the light flickering somewhat is normal, I think that . Has anybody else had this type of problem?
The flickering is somewhat normal!! It should be very slight but it can be noticeable. If it is severe, there is a problem that needs to be addressed. Se if you can find a fellow C5 owner and compare flickering!
The voltage droping to 1-2 volts is NOT!! No matter how low the battery is, if the car started, the battery charge had NOTHING to do with it!
The battery cables could be loose or the battery could have had an internal short and caused that, but not low charge!!! They are snowing you! You have a problem and they need to fix it! Make sure that your battery cables are clean and tight.
Thanks for the info I drove my friends car and you are right his lights flicker a little bit too so i'm thinking what I'm seeing is normal. This is now three times your wisdom and knowledge has helped me out!
