Any Idea What To Do When The Dash Is Rubbing And It Makes A Horrible Squeak Everytime There Is A Little Bump. It Drives Me Nuts, If I Wanted To Hear My Car Squeak I Would Have Bought A Cheap Car.
Any Help Would Be Appreciated.
Thanks,
Annette
I had a squeaky dash also. I took it to the dealer and they put some padding (cheap stuff with adhesive on one side)in the dash to stop the plastic from rubbing directly against other plastic. I can see some of the padding sticking up between the clear plastic covering the gauges and the opaque plastic around it. The squeaking was significantly reduced and only occurs once in awhile.
My 2001 Coupe had that squeak. Turns out it was something about a fiberglass panel chafing against the front frame crossmember under the windshield. OK, so I don't know exactly what it looked like, but the fix was for the mechanic to take the dash, radio, a/c controls, vents, and all sorts of confusing stuff out before he found the spot where it was chafing. Opened up the gap or resealed it or ??? But when he put it all back together, not a squeak since! Annoying and expensive was that little squeak.
If you're going to do it yourself, take your time and keep track of all the small parts. It's fixable, but you're going to have to get serious about taking it apart.
